Rogue Cheney a supporting protagonist in the manga/anime Fairy Tail and is a Mage of the former strongest guild in Fiore, Sabertooth, he is member of the team: the Twin Dragons of Sabertooth with Sting Eucliffe.

Rogue is a Dragon Slayer that was born four hundred years ago, He was one of the five orphans sent four hundred years into the future to assist in the destruction of Acnologia. Rogue referred to himself as Ryos due to being ashamed of the meaning of his name. He is also the former apprentice and the sworn younger brother of Gajeel Redfox.

He is voiced by Kenichi Suzumura in the Japanese version of the anime, and by Garret Storms in the English version.

Appearance[]

Rogue is a young, slim man that has an average height. He has rather messy, shoulder length black hair that is brushed on the right side of his face and is covering his right eye. He has some strands of hair pointing on the top of his head and a prominent tuft obscuring most of his forehead.

He has red silt snake-like eyes like Gajeel. After the battle of the four Dragon Slayers, Rogue gains a thin scar across the bridge of his nose.

Rogue puts his hair up in a ponytail during the war against Tartaros, which is a resemblance of his future self. His Sabertooth guild mark is black and is located on his left shoulder.

Personality[]

Although he is one of top five strongest mages of the Sabertooth guild, Rogue seems to be unusually kind towards his guild and has a very protecting side for his little exceed Frosch.

He seems to question the way their guild handles things, such as naming failures, and weaknesses, but Rogue holds a strong belief in his camaraderie. After Yukino got excommunicated from the guild due to her failure against Kagura Mikazuchi, he still considers her a comrade.

Shortly after, Sting brushes off his comment, stating that it's the way their guild works and said that they will have no failures as the strongest guild in Fiore. When Frosch started to fret over being excommunicated because it lacks strength, Rogue smiles at Frosch and promises that it won't happen as long as it's with him, showing that Rogue has a soft, and caring side.

Unlike his other guildmates, Rogue is shown to not have a sadistic side. When Lucy Heartfilia was getting brutally totured by Minerva Orland, he didn't join in the laughter, but instead looking away with a displeased expression on his face.

Rogue is the more serious and quieter of the Twin Dragon Slayers.

He got annoyed when Sting wasn't taking the battle of Scissor Racer seriously, another time is when Sting was splashing him in the pool childlike and tells him to stop acting like a child.

As a Dragon Slayer, Rogue suffers from motion sickness, believing that only him and Sting suffered from the condition. He was very glad that he wasn't participating in the Chariot race in the Grand Magic Games.

History[]

Rogue was born over four hundred years ago and was an orphan. Rogue was raised by a Dragon known as Skiadrum, who taught him Shadow Dragon Slayer Magic.

Several times he has met up with the other four Dragon Slayers when their foster parents got together for meetings, which made Sting and Rogue respectively idolized Natsu and Gajeel, seeing them as older brothers. Skiadrum implanted his damaged body soul in Rogue's body to prevent from suffering the same fate as Acnologia.

After this, Skiadrum manipulated Rogue's memories to erase this event, instead, he told Rogue that he was ill so he had to kill him. From here, Rogue alongside with the other four Dragon Slayers were sent four hundred years into the future through the Eclipse Gate, arriving in July 7, X, so his foster father, including the other four wounded Dragons could use the Ethernano-dense atmosphere to heal their souls and recover to possibly defeat Acnologia.
